The receipt, and why grades never blend

Build an energy receipt that carries its own provenance, then compose several and watch the composite take the weakest grade rather than the average.

02Model

Every previous alternative-computing wave died the same way: unverifiable claims. Not wrong physics, but numbers nobody could check. The fix is unglamorous. Each measurement carries a provenance grade — modelled, stand-in, or metered — and when you compose measurements, the result takes the minimum grade, never the mean. That single rule makes it impossible to launder a simulation into a headline by averaging it with one real reading.

03Guided practice

1. Define the grades. Modelled, stand-in, metered — ordered, not interchangeable.

2. Build a receipt. Energy, workload, and the grade that produced it.

3. Compose. Sum the joules, but take the minimum grade. Then try to cheat, and watch the rule refuse.

If your composite reports 'metered', you are taking the max or the mean. Take the minimum.
Try adding a third receipt at 'stand_in' and confirm the composite still reports the weakest grade present.
