Institute for Physical AI @ BMI · a demonstration
The body cannot fly itself; a loop can — sense, estimate, allocate, act, a hundred times a second. That loop has one surprising rule, and you already half-know it. Tell it to go right, and watch what it does first. The controller flying the drone on the board is the real one.
goto y=3 and it reflies there — tilting first, every time.Provenance. The controller is a cascaded position→attitude loop; the tilt-to-translate is the standard consequence of a quadrotor being underactuated — four inputs, six degrees of freedom; the transition speed is the wing's stall speed. Every trajectory on the board is the Institute's open flight core flying to a setpoint, not scripted. The 3D model is illustrative; the numbers are exact.
