The same printed humanoid, taken apart three ways: the body that stands, the loop that catches it, and the brain that decides where to step. This is the body — drag to turn it over, then take it apart. A flying machine pays for every second in the air; a standing one does not, and the reason is the whole lesson. The source on the right runs the real mechanics, so it cannot lie to you.
Provenance. The figure is the Institute's printed humanoid — heavy low pelvis, 0.24 m thigh and shin, wide flat feet — read straight off its published model. Standing is a static problem: an ideal hold does no mechanical work, because the legs are a structure carrying weight, not a motor doing it. The only real cost is the small, continuous correction of postural sway. All numbers are computed live by the Institute's open balance core. The 3D model is illustrative; the numbers are exact.
